1. Directory Services - an overview, history, function, safety aspects, LDAP 2. Active Directory - domains, organizational units, sites 3. Trees and forest, global catalog, DNS integration 4. Working with AD objects, ADSI, methods of administration 5. Methods of OS deployment, directory services and applications 6. The roles and functions of the server, terminal services, Internet Information Server 7. Network Services, DNS, DHCP, DirectAccess 8. Security and distribution groups, profiles, trusts, NTDSUTIL 9. Group Policy 10. Redundant Array of Independent Disks 11. PowerShell scripting environment 12. Methods of unattended installation

Learning outcomes
Laboratory exercises are focused on gaining practical experience with administration of operating systems. The aim of this practically based course is to introduce students to the principles of the most widely used enterprise systems with emphasis on their reliability and security. The focus will be to understand and manage Microsoft Windows Server environment and Active Directory group policies.
