Extension of lectures on Ancient History on selected issues of this period. It is based on an analysis of selected sources considering their interpretation and also pointing out their importance for overall interpretive context. Moreover other things are involved such as the issue of historical terminology, then more generally issues of period and social conditionality of historical knowledge and historical concepts. Selected with regard to particular issues the insights into the history of the discipline go beyond the study of Antiquity.
