Learning outcomes
|
The compulsory optional subject presents the use of oral history in research on the history of the 20th century. The subject presents the specifics of oral history. On selected topics, the course offers inspiration for the use of oral history in historical research and pedagogical practice. The subject also introduces the functioning of selected audiovisual archives.
Students critically compare information from eyewitness accounts with common historical sources for the history of the 20th century. Students apply the principles of oral history in the historical study of 20th century history. Students place eyewittness accounts in the overall context of historical phenomena, events and processes. Students actively work with eyewitness testimony (interview, recording, transcription, analysis). Selected students use didactically and methodically processed witness statements as a school historical source.
