|
Prussia is one of the most important actors in European politics. But his defunct state, which is linked at a basic level to Frederick II and sometimes still to Otto von Bismarck, has a much more colourful history and connotations to many processes of European development. A state that for several centuries influenced events not onlyin its immediate surroundings deserves more space.
The student is oriented in the history of Prussia and its individual territorial units. The student understands the significance and interconnectedness of historical events in relation to German and European history. The student is able to better understand the development of Central Europe from a foreign perspective. The student is able to pass on the knowledge gained to other students.

Assessment methods and criteria

Active 80% participation will be required. Preparation of a partial report on the assigned topic. Completion of a final oral exam where the student will demonstrate an orientation in the subject matter.
