Course content
1. Ethics of scientific work - ethical codes and principles (AV ČR, UK, UJEP) 2. Reasons for ethical violations 3. Fabricating and distorting/falsifying research findings, 4. Plagiarism, 5. Attribution of co-authors, 6. Duplicate/simultaneous publishing, 7. Splitting publications into multiple articles, 8. Recycling texts, 9. Mutual (reciprocal) citation of affiliated colleagues, 10. Distorted citation, 11. Unacknowledged conflict of interest, 12. Copyright infringement - problems in historical research (impact of GDPR). 13. Possibilities for consistent adherence to scientific and publication ethics in practice

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the most common manifestations of ethical violations in scientific research in the humanities, especially publication ethics. The aim is to increase students' sensitivity to violations of publication ethics rules, thereby contributing to the cultivation of a publication environment within the study program. In the first phase of the course, attention will be focused on the reasons that lead researchers to violate publication ethics (emphasis is placed on the connection with the currently valid system of financing and evaluation of science and research). In the second phase of the course, the most common manifestations of publication misconduct are analyzed.
Students are able to discuss current issues related to the creation of professional texts and demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate them. They are able to reflect on and identify violations of publication ethics. They are able to argue and defend their opinions.

Presentation of your own professional text (assigned qualification work) with an emphasis on its concept and identification of problematic areas with regard to possible risks related to publication ethics (citing sources and other resources, using unpublished qualification works, using visual material, etc.).
