Course content
The course of training corresponds to the establishment of the basic objective, i.e. the acquisition of practical skills, the corresponding level and theoretical fundations and more general language skills. Textbook material and language aids can be combined appropriately. A proven model example is the work with Jana Zachová? textbook, Latin fo Historians and Archivists. Alternatively or additionally, using, for example, the textbook Latin for Universities by the author?s collective. Similarly it is with the use of other selection materials. In particular, careshould be taken to link with the textual support in the systematic interpretation of Latin grammar, a simpler version is sufficient/see also the options on the web/. In the case of Jana Zachová?s textbook ,the introductory basic knowledge, on which the expanding continuation basis can then be built, can be seen in the tenth lesson as a refresher. This is similarly the case with other textbooks. The selection of content or supplementation from other sources, as well as the intensity of the inclusion of new material, are necessarily accompanied by repetition with the need for continuous testing .Overall, the procedure depends on the assumptions beign tested for the real achievement of the objectives.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire the basic skills to navigate through the simpler Latin text. To become familiar with the principles of Latin word formation, to learn the basics of Latin morphology, including the ability to independently translate simpler Latin sentences. The follow-up course is about a more thorough familiarity with the basic structures of Latin sentences. In addition to the knowledge of Latin morphology, it consists in understanding the principles of Latin syntax, in axquiring the practical procedures and skills needed to work with simpler Latin texts, prospectively with texts of medium difficulty. This involves a consideration of the deeper contexts of the language, also from the perpective of related philogies. Naturally, the role of historical and cultural perspectives is similarly referred to.
The student has the basic ability to navigate through a Latin text. The student is able to identify grammatical forms, is familiar with the practical procedures for identifying them in a sentence, and is able to penetrate the basic structure of simple to moderately complex sentences. (S)he can arrive at the translation of phrases and sentences and use them to arrive at a reliable interpretation of the Latin text.

The student demonstrates through active participation in class, in the form of a test, oral interview, etc., that he/she has mastered the material discussed to the required extent and that he/she is able to build on the achieved foundation.
