1. The building as a historical source. 2. Prehistoric buildings of Europe - basic typology of structures, settlement and building types. 3. Prehistoric architecture of Bohemia and Moravia. 4. Ancient architecture - Greece and Rome - basic features. 5. Early Christian architecture. 6. Pre-Romanesque architecture of the early Middle Ages and Great Moravia. 7. Romanesque architecture of Europe. 8. Romanesque architecture of Bohemia. 9. Gothic of European centers - basic overview and characteristics. 10. The beginnings of Gothic and early Gothic under Přemysl Otakar II. 11. The onset of High Gothic under Wenceslaus II. 12. High Gothic during the reign of the Luxembourgers. 13. Late Gothic of the court circuit under the Jagiellons. 14. Late Gothic of the Saxon type in the area of NW Bohemia.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic points and features of the development of historical architecture in the time range from prehistoric times to the Gothic period with an emphasis on the historical development of domestic architecture in the general context of European historical and cultural development. A chronological overview of the development of architecture includes the main development features, features of architecture of a given style and style, an overview of the most important buildings and a brief historical framework influencing the development of architecture in the relevant time period.
The student can determine the characteristic features of historical architectural styles and styles, can roughly date historical architecture, knows the basic development of architecture from prehistoric times to late Gothic.
