Learning outcomes
The subject will help students to widen their knowledge in a ten days practical training - the knowledge already acquired in the master's degree study, where the practical part will help them to find work in future. The student will choose place of practice himself from the offered possibilities, according to the subject of study and the personal professional interest, so that it corresponds with the topic of his or her diploma thesis. In the practice the student will learn the operation of the institution, the work of the research workers and he can also be assigned some smaller tasks in the workplace. This helps in later choice of work. The practice can be completed in a partner's subject: Ministry of culture of Czech Republic, National Heritage Institution of the Ministry of culture of Czech Republic, in museum archives, galleries, in departments and institution of culture and conservation, in restoration workshops, projection studios, construction companies which concentrate on historic buildings, in charitable trusts and foundations which control, protect, renovate and present the heritage fund, in science institutions specialized on research of cultural heritage.
The student understands what the mission, function and operation of the institution is. He knows the job content of the department or the workplace where he did his practice. He is able to manage the specific activity he acquired during the practice. The student can apply the knowledge in his own scientific activity, in writing a diploma work and - after graduation - also in his job.
