The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issue of military history in the 19 and 20 centuries. Emphasis is placed on the conflicts that occurred in Europe and affected the Czech lands. The course involves presentation of changing style of warfare in this period, as well as political implications of selected conflicts and their impact on civilian population.
Students will gain a basic overview of modern military history. During the lessons they will be acquainted with selected war conflicts that influenced the history of the Czech lands. Course participants will get information about literature and available sources for military history of the 19th and 20th centuries. |
