Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is introduce students to the issue of medieval and early modern medicine. The aim is to show them development of medicine, its theories and general perceptions of the human body, health and disease.
Students have basic knowledge of history of espec. medieval and early modern medicine. They are able to describe the main line of development, its representatives and the most widespread theories. At the same time they can define period concepts of a human body and its functioning. To lesser extent, they can interpret medieval and early modern imagination in relation to health and disease.

Prerequisites
|
Student should be knowledgeable in basic historic context. Also they should be familiar with basics of the history of science. Any knowledge from the history of medicine is welcome.
