Learning outcomes
Introduction into archival sciences II follows the previous lectures of Introduction into archival sciences I. Now our attention will be concentrated on the issues of variability of archival material, to the possibilities and levels of education of archivists, towards the archival informatics as a theory of the possibilities and ways of using the archive material and archive technique whose goal is the all over protection of the records in the archives (including the present day electronic documents).
Mastering (Introduction into archival sciences I and II) of basic topics of archival sciences or archivistics as a scientific theoretical discipline. It is mainly about archival theory and methodics but also the development and organization of the archives, specialized archive legislative, archival informatics and the record management as an embryonic phase of a future archival material. The students should manage all the basic knowledge which enable them later to work at a position not only in archives but also in other memory institutions, administrative offices, or in "think-tank" institutions). Continuously we put stress on the wider European context and it is supposed that the students with a knowledge of at least one world language will have a good possibility to find work in other states of European Union. In the intellectual society of today, archives play an irreplaceable role in saving competently selected data and documents (including the electronic) as a part of the national cultural heritage.
