Course content
|
The teaching of the subject in the combined form includes the following topics in individual teaching blocks: 1. Romanesque architecture - Europe 2. Romanesque architecture - Bohemia 3. Gothic architecture - Europe 4. Gothic architecture - Bohemia As part of self-study, students deal with topics included in the compulsory literature, tasks assigned in the face-to-face part of the course or in the Moodle teaching system, as well as on the basis of current consultations with the teacher carried out through the communication forum in Moodle or in another electronic form.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject is oriented towards the development of architecture from the beginning of the Romanesque style to the end of the Gothic style. The lectures are devoted to the development in the main centers of Europe, especially the students are introduced to the development in the Czech lands. Emphasis is placed on the characteristic features and signs of the given period and the given territorial area, the material used and its processing, attention is drawn to typical constructions and details determining the belonging of the buildings to the given style and style. In addition to theoretical topics, the lectures present the most important localities and buildings using concrete examples with visual accompaniment.
The student acquires knowledge about the development of architecture in the time range from pre-Romanesque architecture to late Gothic in the most important European centers and in the home environment. He can use the signs and features of architecture as a data tool for the chronological classification and evaluation of historical buildings, based on the acquired knowledge he can analyze the development of historical buildings and building ensembles.
