Learning outcomes
The main goal of the subject is to make a deeper meeting with regional history as an integral part of historical sciences. We pay attention to specific sources which can be used for the study of regional history, we present types of regional historical workplaces. As the development of historical work in border areas of Czech countries is distinctive, we also take into considetarion the basic overview of Czech-German or Sudeten German historiography.
The student will gain an overview of a wide range of sources (material, written, pictorial, map) that can be used in regional historical studies. They will also become familar with the workings of institutions that preserve sources for reginal historical studies (musemus, open-air museums, galleries, archives). They will learn how to obtain additional information on their own through the oral history method. They will understand the importance of tracing the relationship between historical events, phenomena and structures and the environmnent that influenced them, but on the other hand was and is itself influenced by man and society.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student has to study all 14 lectures topics. Credit is conditional on successful completion of the written test. The test i 2 pages long and contains questions that test elementary knowledge of the topics presented. Answers are scored with a maximum of 30 points for all correct and copmrehensive anwers, with a minimum of 18.5 points required for credit.
