Course content |
The teaching of the course in the combined form includes the following topics in individual teaching blocks: 1. What is cultural history?; An overview of the development of the history of culture and art in the European environment up to the beginning of the Englightenment. 2. Iconographic minimum 3. Expert terminlogy 4. Historical topgraphy; Historical geography. 5. Specialist excursion (focus chosen flexibly in view of the current offer of events and exhibition).

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to provide students of single-subject history with a basic overview of cultural and artistic development from the Renaissance to the 20th century. The course is designed as a contextual extension of the knowledge that students acquire in basic theoretical courses, measured predominantly in political, religous, and economic history. The course primarily emphasizes issues of visual art and architecture, but issues of spiritual culture, literature, theatre, etc. are also represented. The lectures of the course are sedigned in direct continuity with the content of the lectures on the history of the early modern, 19th and Mannerism, the Czech Renaissance, the Baroque in Europe and the Czech lands, and the main European and domestic artistic and cultural currents of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to this, the student has a basic knowledge of the terminology of the field and some partial knowledge of literature, theatre studies, musicology and othe fields. (S)he has an overview of the basic titles of domestic and foreign literature.
The graduate demonstrates an overview knowledge of the cultural development of Renaissance Italy, European Mannerism, the Czech Renaissance, the Baroque in Europe and the Czech lands, and the main European and domestic artistic and cultural currents of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to this, the student has a basic knowledge of the terminology of the field and some partial knowledge of literature, theatre studies, musicology and other fields. (S)he has an overview of the basic titles of domestic and foreign literature. |
