Learning outcomes
The discipline does not aim to present students with historical and political events in the period of so called normalization. It tries to draw attention to accompanying circumstances of this period which gave birth to a un-official cultural scene. Obviously historical and political facts will be mentioned as a ground for further information. Students will be provided with information about events in all branches o culture which contradicted to cultural line endorsed by the state. Main task of a seminar is to point out particular cases of persecution of un-official cultural and underground scene and their confrontation with official government sphere. Students will learn about so far not very well known sources mapping this issue.
By attending this course students will get knowledge about a specific development and a form of culture called un-official. They will be able to work with archival sources, samizdat texts and editions as well as with period texts written in typical normalization style. On the basis of acquired knowledge students will be able to work with witnesses using a method of oral history - preparation of an interview, conducting an interview, analysis and interpretation of an interview. Students can use this method in other scientific disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, etnography or psychology. Furthermore students will know about existence of literature dealing with this issue.
