Learning outcomes
|
Students will be provided with basic information about structure of museology including terminology and overview of history of museology in the Czech lands. We will mainly deal with categorization of museology in the system of sciences relating to cultural heritage. In classes of theoretical museology we will especially look at generalization of principles of musealization. After that, in particular chapters from museography students will hear about basic problems concerning practical activities in current museology and finally we will pay attention to application of museology on different disciplinary specializations.
Student acquires both theoretical and practical knowledge of museology. He/she gets information about main problems of organization and registration of museum collections along with installations of exhibitions and cooperation of museum with other institutions. Practical training in the museum is a part of this discipline.

Assessment methods and criteria

Good attendance record, obligatory production of an academic text ranging from 3 to 5 standard pages on current issues of museology ( aacording to given topics). Later students are interviewed so that their acquired knowledge is checked.
