Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is present students with help of all available resources with historical development of systems regulating competences of responsible officials at consideration of certain issues, as well as systems needed for handling official agenda itself and subsequent depositing of processed documents in registries. Some of the principles of records management which formed at the end of the 19 century especially in Anglo-Saxon world are still valid in present days. Students will be thus understand that even in present days when we use electronic records management system ( about which students will learn later) or e-documents instead of a classical one basic principles of handling documents do not change in everyday work in the office.
Student will have the basic idea of the methodological and methodical problems in the process of records management, which stand at the base of work of all public institutions and corporations in the Czech Republic. During the process is thus created a natural basis (after selection within the shredding procedure) for subsequent formation of archival collections as a part of the national cultural heritage . Students will acquire elementary knowledge about the development of methodology of records management and their possible application in the present time in which as it is so-called transitional period hybrid document management systems have been applied.
