Course content
Due to the distance type of study, time allocation of two terms for the discipline, lectures are divided into two parts: 1 - 4 in winter term, 5 - 8 in summer term: 1) Administration of the Czech state in Middle Ages and Early Modern Times, municipal and Patrimonial administration ( 2 lectures + 1 seminar), 2) State Administration 1740 - 1848 (2l. + 1s.), 3) 1848 - 1918 ( Constitutional development, bodies of legislative and executive power) ( 2l+1s), 4) 1848 - 1918 ( Judicial administration, self-government) ( 2l+1s), 5) 1918 - 1939 ( Constitutional development, bodies of legislative and executive power), 6) 1918 - 1939 ( Judicial administration, self-government), 7) 1938 - 1945 ( Administration in the period of occupation) 8) 1945 - 1992 ( Administrative development from the year of 1945 till the dissolution of Czechoslovakia).-

Learning outcomes
This discipline presents students with organization of public administration in the area of the Czech state in the period from Middle Ages till the year of 1918 and from the year of 1918 till the year of 1992. Lectures on institutions of public administration are related to information about preservation and deposition of their written production. This written material is important for understanding to their organization and actual functioning and also for methodically guided historical study in general.
The course will clarify the importance of the discipline for practical performance of activities for which students are qualified after they have graduated with Mgr.degree ( PVH and Building history). Its objective is to build bases for further independent acquision of new knowledge. In case of Bc.degree the course will provide students with elementary knowledge of the issue of administration history.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of Czech history on secondary school level.

Assessment methods and criteria

At the end of the course students are required to do an oral exam, which means to give satisfactory answers for partial questions and explanation of basic terminology such as the highest land officials, Czech court office, regulation of magistrates, regional establishment, political and district courts, general self-government, bodies of legislative power, reception act, administration in Sudetengau, national committees, federalization etc.
