Learning outcomes
Introduction to various views on history of warfare such as formation of army units, formulation and development of military strategy, influence of new technologies on changes in weaponry and their artistic and documentary film adaptation. Explanation of development of warfare on practical examples, emphasis on historical military terminology in the period from the Ancient Times till the Cold War. Comments on film adaptations which are presented in historical context.
Students will acquire general knowledge of history of warfare, respective terminology and they will understand to basic logical elements of military art. He/she will be able to recognize meaning of technical and technological progress for development of military art. He/she will be able to distinguish various types of weapons and arms and will understand their role in particular historical period. He/she will be able to define and explain basic historical and military terms and institutes, identify them and apply them in historical practical training.

Lectures and seminars attendance, participation in discussions, production of an essay on selected title. Essay must contain three parts: evaluative ( objective), evaluative ( subjective) and critical.
