Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to present students with works of particular script writers and directors of so called Czechoslovak New Wave which meant a turning point in quality of films in the 60ś of the 20 century. At the same time to give a better idea of the period of gradual thawing which culminated in so called Prague Spring.
Students are familiar with Czechoslovak political and cultural history of the 60ś of the 20 century. They have knowledge of main works of literature on the period and the most significant films which they would be shown during the course. They are able to provide a critical interpretation of films and they are able to realize the importance and legacy of Czechoslovak New Wave. They are able to present acquired knowledge in the form of a text and discuss it.
