1. Introduction into translation, procedures and principles of translation. 2. Features of various types of texts. 3. Supporting means for translators (online dictionaries, databases, glossaries, etc.). 4.-14. Translating selected texts, analyses of these translations.

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic procedures and principles of translation of specialized texts, and on the basis of this knowledge gradually develop students' translational skills. While working with authentic texts in the economic, legal and technical field, specific translation strategies and methods will be practised.
Participants are focused on translation strategies, they work with glossaries and other translation aids. They can apply relevant methods and strategies when translating expert texts. |
