Course content
The extension course will focus on the work of the Austrian author of Czech origin Michael Stavarich in its genre diversity - from essays, poetry and novels to his work for children and youth. The emphasis will be placed not only on the diversity of genres, but also on the diversity of language, which is a result of his multilingualism, which is strongly reflected in his texts.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to enhance students' knowledge of important literary works of German literature in the period from 1945 to the present acquired in the course Literature of German-speaking countries 3, and to develop their ability to analyze and adequately interpret these works. Emphasis will be placed on the development of analytical thinking. Literary texts will be interpreted both in oral and written form, the interpretation will be based on the study of secondary sources.
Students will enhance their knowledge of German-language literature after 1945, they can analyze and interpret literary works with regard to the specifics of the genre and cultural-historical context on the basis of an independent study of primary and secondary literature.

To receive credit - participation in the seminar and the joint presentation part in the form of an international workshop with the author - Fulfillment of reading assignments - Oral ppt presentation on one the seminar topic, or a final paper
