1. theory and practice: writing as a process, peer-feedback 2. writing in professional contexts (formal mail, CV, motivation letter) 3. argumentative writing (argument structure, expression of opinion, written discussion) 4. scientific writing (research questions, structure of a scientific paper) 5. vocabulary building strategies (vocabulary log)

Learning outcomes
The course will concern itself with training of writing styles particularly professional writing. The aim is to strengthen students´ writing skills focusing on their studies and important themes of the society with respect to written part of the final exam. The course comprises orthography, grammatical correctness, appropriate language devices choice, text composition and text structure. In connection with the writing styles we will focus on kinds of writing styles and functions with respect to the aim and recipient.
Student knows the language devices and grammatical structures typical for professional writing style, knows the rules of text composition and text structure. He/she can apply the theoretical knowledge and skills in practice and is able to write a text in professional style.
