Course content
1. The relationship between the sound and written form of German 2. Phonetics as a branch of linguistics that the sound of language 3. Phonetic description of German sounds in relation to standard pronunciation 4. The main difficulties in mastering the codified pronunciation standard of German 5. Long closed and tense vowels 6. Front rounded vowels 7. German diphthongs 8. Reduced e and vocalized r 9. Ich-Laut, Ach-Laut 10. Ang-Laut 11. Word accent 12. Intonation of a German sentence - melody, accent, rhythm 13. Assimilation and coarticulation

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to improve the proficiency in the spoken form of the contemporary German on the basis of practical pronunciation exercises and activities, which focus primarily on practicing difficult pronunciation phenomena.
Students - can diagnose one's own pronunciation difficulties, - knows the methodological principles of practicing difficult pronunciation phenomena, - is able to eliminate the most significant self-pronunciation errors.
