Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to provide an overview of literary tendencies and the development of German-language literature from 1945 to the present. Students will get acquainted with the most important representatives and key works of contemporary German literature, including the literature of the GDR, Austria and Switzerland. In the field of theory, special attention will be paid to the concept of hermeneutics, literary fiction and its function in modern prose, modern prose and theatrical forms and experimental poetry.
The student is familiar with literary tendencies and the development of German-language literature from 1945 to the present, knows their main representatives and works. The student can interpret the discussed works and contextualize them culturally and historically. S/he masters the basics of hermeneutics and is able to apply the concept of literary fiction to modern forms of texts.
