Course content
1. Current issues of didactics of German as a foreign language. European documents and concretization of language educational goals in teaching at high schools and elementary schools in practice 2. The concept of the role of language resources in teaching after practical experience 3. Possibilities of using productive and receptive speech skills - motivation of pupils - view from practice 4. The role of the cognitive component of teaching and its application in the North Bohemian region in teaching German as a foreign language 5. The role of the emotional component from the perspective of previous experience 6. Multilingualism as a trend in contemporary Europe 7. - 9. Preparation of a beginning German teacher for teaching at high school or elementary school, namely: - Content pitfalls (i.e. unsuspected dangers and difficulties) and their overcoming - Time pitfalls and their overcoming - Pitfalls of selecting suitable learning files in the current market - Elaboration of the lesson concept

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to compare the theoretical knowledge gained so far from the didactics of German as a foreign language and the experience gained from observations and teaching during the pedagogical practice of students. Students will also get acquainted with some new alternative methods and techniques used in foreign language teaching. During the elaboration of the concept of a specific German lesson, the possibilities of choosing suitable methods, strategies and techniques will be discussed.
The student attending the course is expected to be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and his/her experience from the pedagogical practice completed so far in a creative way to such a conceived preparation for a lesson, which would ensure the highest possible efficiency and successful mastery in future school practice, He/she is also familiar not only with European documents and Czech curricular documents, but also with the latest alternatives. It monitors current discussions on foreign language teaching in professional journals and on the Internet in order to use them in its future teaching activities.

Credit: active participation in seminars (min. 70%), fulfilment of assigned tasks, outputs in the form of microteaching, elaboration of presentations and papers on assigned topics, elaboration of a lesson concept, or passing the credit test.
