Course content
1. Current didactics issues of German as a foreign language. European documents and objective specification of foreign language teaching in lessons at the secondary and primary schools 2. Role conception of language devices in lessons based on practice experience 3. Application possibilities of productive and receptive language skills - students´ motivation - practice-based 4. Role of cognitive teaching component and its application in the Northern Bohemia in teaching German as a foreign language 5. Role of emotional component in terms of past experience 6. Use of alternative methods 7. Preparing a German student teacher for teaching at the secondary or primary school, namely: o Content management difficulties and how to overcome them o Time management difficulties and how to overcome them o Appropriate choice of teaching material o Lesson plan concept

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to synchronize up to now learned theoretical knowledge from didactics of German as a foreign language and gained experience from observations and teaching during the teaching practice. Students will become acquainted with some new alternative methods and techniques used in foreign language lessons. While preparing a particular lesson plan of a German lesson, the choice of appropriate methods, strategies and techniques will be discussed.
Student " is able to apply learned theoretical knowledge and own experience from his/her teaching practice to prepare a lesson, which would ensure the highest efficiency and success in the future teaching experience " is well informed not only about the European documents and Czech curricular documents, but also about the newest alternatives. He/she follows the current opinions about foreign language teaching in scientific magazines and on the Internet so he/she can apply them in his/her future teaching career.
