Examples of possible themes/topics: " Intercultural literary science (scholarship) (intercultural literature, intercultural language, intercultural translation) " Cultural science and its contribution for literary theory (Spatial Turn, Emotional Turn) " Postmodernism in the context of literature in the German language and the theoretical discourse " Intermediality and intertextuality as a tool of interpretation of literary texts " Heimatdiscourse and its development in German, Austrian and Swiss literature " Postcolonial theory and Hybridity in literature (Bhabha) National, post-national and transnational issues (national conflicts, co-habitation of Czech and German inhabitants in literary and journalistic texts)

Learning outcomes
The main goal is to extend the doctoral student´s knowledge of current literary theoretical discourses, to mediate his/her insight in them in much wider (even interdisciplinary) relations and check his/her ability to apply them to selected texts of literature in the German language. These selection of theoretical and literary texts takes into account the orientation of the dissertation project and the current offer of lectures by visiting professors. The credit is granted on the basis of the submitted examination paper.
The Doctoral student has a deep knowledge of the selected literary theory, is well versed in professional literature and current theoretical discourse, can explain it more closely and use its potential for the analysis of a literary work.
