Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to get a general overview of development trends in German literature for children and youth (young adults), its key authors and works, while attention is paid to five thematic areas: picture books and comics, fantasy literature, so-called problem-oriented literature, girls' novels and autobiographical literature. Special attention in this course is paid to students´ own reading experience and work with specific literary texts, especially contemporary literature.
Students will get acquainted with the history and modern trends in literature for children and young adult learners. They are also well versed in the main genres and know key works of the prescribed literature. They can analyse and interpret selected literary works.
