Course content
The course covers the first four textbook chapters (Aspekte B2). In connection with the discussed topics all language skills will be practiced as well as grammar structures and using a dictionary based on the learners´ needs. 1. Home, foreign countries, integration, interculturality 2. Language, communication, small talk, foreign language learning, conflicts and conflict behavior 3. Studies, profession, job market 4. Coexistence and lifestyle, youth, equality, gender aspects, violence prevention, wealth and poverty

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to improve and develop the speaking skills, perfect the grammar skills, extend the vocabulary, practice independent speaking and writing and learn about the German speaking countries. Level B2 of the CEFR is required.
Student " knows the vocabulary a grammar related to the discussed topics " can understand in detail texts with known topics and are familiar with global understanding of academic language texts " can briefly summarize by mouth and on paper the main text ideas in spoken and written language " can write an informal letter/email and a cover letter " can use appropriate language devices for courteous communication, discussion, diagram description and self-presentation.

Credit requirements: Active participation, students must successfully complete required tasks, hand in three short writings (summary, informal letter/email, cover letter) and pass the credit test (70%).
