Course content
1. Exercises on individual types of clause - different aspects of the definition of a seclause, classification; exercises on types of clauses, their classification; exercises on word order types in German. 2. Practicing phrase categories, their types and function in a clause; various tests in syntax. 3. Determination of sentence elements 1. 4. Determination of sentence elements 2. 5. Exercises on topological analysis of clauses, violation of the frame principle in a clause, information structure. 6. Practicing sentences with the dass subjunctor. 7. Substitution of sentences with the dass subjunctor using semi-sentences. 8. Exercises for relative clauses. 9. Determining and practicing the formation of adverb clauses 1. 10. Determining and practicing the formation of adverb clauses 2. 11. Determining and practicing the formation of adverb clauses 3. 12. Other semi-sentence constructions and practicing their formation. 13. Negation; nominalization and verbalization, characteristics, examples and use

Learning outcomes
The course builds on the courses Grammar 1 and Grammar 2 and is designed as their expanding. Based on the course Exercises in Grammar 2, students will consolidate their existing knowledge and skills in syntax of contemporary German.
Students master the theoretical basis of sentence and text syntax to the extent that they can reflect the structure of sentences and texts via the methodology and conceptual apparatus of relevant linguistic disciplines. They can analyse sentences and texts and describe the main phenomena associated with sentence and text structures.
