Learning outcomes
|
The course Language Contacts provides an interdisciplinary oriented introduction to the issue, with a lexicological perspective in focus. The seminar focuses mainly on Czech-German language contacts, their forms, circumstances, manifestations and consequences. In addition, the course provides students with an overview of important language contacts between German and other languages, including its historical assumptions and circumstances.
The student is able to clarify the forms, circumstances, manifestations and consequences of language contacts not only on the example of German and Czech, but also on other European languages.
