Learning outcomes
This seminar will focus on the interpretation of texts of theatrical provenance documenting the specific position of the Czech lands between the bourgeois, "Enlightenment" theatre of central and northern Germany and the folk, "post-Baroque" theatre of Vienna. Particular attention will be paid to the Czech-German relationship, both in the individual aspects of the dramatic text and in the accompanying commentary, which presents the staging, translation and reception circumstances of the individual pieces.
