Course content
In the linguistic field the theses are aimed at trends in the current German and comparative linguistics. In the literary-critical field the theses are aimed at the tendencies in contemporary literature of German language area, reception of German-writing authors in the Czech Republic, German written literature from Bohemia and Czech-German relations in literature. In the cultural historical field the theses are aimed at Czech-German relations, German culture of Ústí region etc.

Learning outcomes
The aim is to create a Bc thesis proposal containing justification of the selection of the topic and its relevance for the studied field of study, including a brief assessment of the state of research of the chosen subject matter and a transparently defined goal of the work (research question/ Forschungsfrage), or a brief description of the chosen method. A part of this proposal is also a list of studied literature and a proposal for the overall structure of the Bc thesis.
Students show the ability to orientate themselves in the scientific literature on the chosen topic and to present these results in the framework of a state exam thesis.

Assessment methods and criteria

The proposal for the bachelor thesis should cover a range of 3-5 pages of the A4 format (for more details see the course objectives). Students are awarded the final credit by their Bc thesis supervisor.
