Learning outcomes
The course focuses on syntax and marginally on structures which unexpectedly shift in grammar. The aim of the course is to improve language skills (e.g. punctuation, correct order of parts of a sentence, correct formation of parts of a sentence and sentence formation, using deictic words in a sentence and text, etc.), to learn basic description methods of grammar structures on the level of clauses, basic terminology. This course will provide students with theoretical knowledge of syntax. This will allow them to reflect sentence and text structure based on methodology and terminology of relevant linguistics disciplines, analyze sentences and texts and describe main aspects of sentence structure and text composition.
Student " will improve sentence structure and text composition skills " is well informed about theories of syntax, which enable him/her to understand the issue connected with abstraction of syntactic features " is able to analyze sentence based on related literature and to form grammatically correct statements.
