Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to develop students´ abilities to communicate successfully in spoken and written German with respect to various style forming features. They can explain whether the selection of stylistic devices is appropriate or not. Basic stylistic terms and text analysis methods in terms of stylistics and text linguistics will be acquired.
Students - can explain basic terms in stylistics and text linguistics, - are well informed about the structure of texts, text functions and text types, - can identify text functions, - realize the connection between various style forming features and stylistic devices selection, - can identify stylistic devices in texts and analyze their function in the text.

Credit requirements: Active participation in the seminars, students must successfully complete required tasks and pass the credit test. Exam requirements (written exam): Students are expected to show profound knowledge of the key topics of text linguistics and stylistics.
