Course content
1. Concise revision: syntax. Complex linguistic analysis of a selected text. 2. Concise revision: lexicology. Complex linguistic analysis of a selected text. 3. Concise revision: phraseology. Complex linguistic analysis of a selected text. 4. Concise revision: text linguistics. Complex linguistic analysis of a selected text. 5. Complex linguistic analysis of a selected text. The course is designed as an eight-lesson-course (revision of syntax, lexicology, phraseology and text linguistics, complex linguistic analyses of texts, students' presentations) and these eight lessons must be accompanied by 16 lessons of self-study. Relevant materials for the self-study are the materials specially designed for previous linguistics seminars (syntax, lexicology, phraseology and text linguistics) as well as recommended further literature. Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to revise and deepen the students' knowledge of linguistics, acquired in selected previous linguistics seminars (syntax, lexicology, phraseology and text linguistics). Furthermore, the course aims at practising complex linguistic analyses of texts, based on the knowledge acquired in linguistics seminars. The primary goal of this course is to help students prepare for the final examination.
Students are able to see the linguistic issues in connections and they can use their knowledge in the complex linguistic analysis of a text. They are able to use relevant terminology and they are acquainted with the basic literature on syntax, lexicology, phraseology and text linguistics.
