The course is primarily for students dealing with computer simulations of complex fluids, and polymeric and biological systems, as a part of student?s PhD theses. The course advances student?s knowledge in computer modelling at the mesoscale level: - Principles of mesoscopic modelling. Coarse graining and mesoscopic models. - Mesoscopic models by top-down coarse graining. Mesoscopic models by bottom-up coarse graining - Dissipative particle dynamics method. The equations of motion and their numerical integration. Simulations of system thermodynamic, structural and dynamical properties. Applications to polymer melts and solutions, and self-assembled systems. - Advanced dissipative particle dynamics methods. Many-body dissipative particle dynamics. Constant-energy dissipative particle dynamics. Dissipative particle dynamics with general dissipative and random forces.
