Learning outcomes
|
The course is composed of a series of lectures. Each lecture introduces the main philosophic problems, intellectual movements and conceptions of chosen philosophers in the context of historical background. The lecture is followed by discussion of the given topis with students. The goal of the discussion is to compare the philosophical problems and their proposed solutions in various historico-social contexts.
Studying the chosem philosophical texts gives students the ability to understand the particular aesthetic, social, media and moral problems of the contemporary world. Students will understand how to distinguish these philosophic conceptions and to apply them in historical and thematic contexts. They will be also invited to creatively work with the questions formulated by key thinkers of the end of 20th and beginning of 21st century. Thanks to this inquiry, students will be able to search for ways how to solve the given philosophical problems. This complex theoretic orientation gives students competence to enter contemporary socio-cultural debates with erudition.

Czech and English languages. Basic orientation in philosophy. Basic orientation in humanities and social theories.

Assessment methods and criteria

The course is finalized by oral examination verifying understanding of the given philosophical conceptions. Orientation in these theories is conditioned by individual study of given primary and secondary literature. Students can find the basic bibliographic sources on the webpage of the subject in Moodle.
