The emergence and development of modern statehood 1. the concept of a sovereign state 2. development tendencies of the modern state 3. key concepts of statehood: sovereignty, raison d'État 4. the relationship between church and state 5. the relationship between the state and society 6. state and nation III. democratic constitutional state since the end of the 18th century 1. concept of constitution 2. American and French constitutions 3. history of modern constitutional theory: de Vattel, Sieyes, Letters of the Federalists 4. specifics of the modern concept of the constitution: formal and material elements 5. the concept of constitutional power 6. protection of the constitution and constitutional justice IV. The state in the theory and practice of totalitarian regimes: The concept of a total, totalitarian and authoritarian state V. State utopia VII.
