The course has two basic goals. 1) To understand development of thinking about gender and sexuality in political, social and philosophical contexts; 2) To review and discuss questions and problesm related to the following topics: sexual identity, biological vs cultural determination of gender, gender equality, construction of male and female roles, transsexuality and non-binary identy, gender and power. The course is methodologically transdisciplinary ranging between psychology, sociology, anthropology, philosophy and history.
The students will: Understand the key concepts and problems of feminism and gender theories. be able to discuss problems of sexuality and gender identity in relation to society, state and power. be able to write short review study
