1. Development of the political system in the Czech lands in the years 1848-1918. 2. Political system in Czechoslovakia 1918-1938. 3. Parliament and political parties 1918-1938. 4. State and public administration after 1918. 5. The nature of changes in the political system of the second republic. 6. Political system in the Czech lands during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. 7. Provisional State Establishment 1939-1945. 8. Changes in the political system in the period of the regime of "people's democracy" 1945-1948. 9. National Front and its organization. 10. System of national committees after 1945. 11. Basic features of changes in the political system in the era of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia after 1948. 12. Elements of liberalization of the political system in the 1960s. 13. Normalization regime in Czechoslovakia in the 70s and 80s.

Learning outcomes
|
Students will gain knowledge about the development and institutional form of the Czech political system from 1848 to 1990. The interpretation reflects the historical and social context in which the changes in the Czech political system took place, the international context will be followed. Attention is also paid to the interpretation of the development of the political system in terms of program formation and development of individual ideological currents, especially between political parties. The changes of undemocratic regimes in Czechoslovakia will also be monitored.
The student is able to use professional terminology. The student is able to characterize the basic stages in the development of the Czech political system in the 20th century. The student is able to explain the role of constitutional institutions and their functions in the political system. The student is able to clarify the development of the Czech political system and political partisanship. The student is able to classify the changes of undemocratic regimes in Czechoslovakia.

To successfully complete the course, it is required to submit a seminar paper in the range of 6 to 8 standard pages and successful completion of the oral exam.
