Course content
1. alphabet, pronunciation, vowels and diphthongs, inference, accent 2. reading practice 3rd - 4th lesson I: Article; first and second declension; uncontracted verbs: present tense, active gender, imperative; adjectives; verb einai 5th - 6th lesson II: third declension; prepositions; numerals; personal pronouns 7th - 8th lesson III: withdrawn verbs: present tense, indicative and imperative; withdrawn adjectives Lessons 9 - 10 IV: neuter gender, adjectives of the third declension; adverbs; gradation of adjectives and adverbs Lessons 11 - 12 V: pronouns; plural neuter 13. repetition

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic grammatical phenomena and basic vocabulary so that they can read and translate selected ancient Greek texts (e.g. Aristotle's Categories). During the 1st semester, students should master the first five lessons from the textbook Peckett, C. W. E. - Munday, A. R., Thrasymachos: Ancient Greek Textbook.
The student will gain the following professional skills: - masters grammar and vocabulary in the range of lessons 1 - 5 from the textbook C. W. E. Peckett, A. R. Munday, Thrasymachos: Ancient Greek Textbook - is able to read and translate simple Greek texts
