Learning outcomes
The course offers an introduction to poststructuralism - to its main figures, questions, and concepts. It will adress the crisis of modernity and the emergence of so called post-modern condition based on the works of M. Heidegger, C. Lévi-Strauss, J. Lacan, J. Derrida, J. F. Lyotard, G. Deleuze, F. Guattari, U. Eco, M. Foucault, R. Barthes, R. Rorty, T. Adorno and others. The main topics are: modernity, end of metaphysics, crises of the West, death of subject or deconstruction.
The students will: Understand the scope of postructuralist thought Orientate in the field of post-structuralist philosophy Critically evaluate problems of modern societies from the philosohical perspective.
