Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretically-practical. It allows students to obtain some basic theoretical knowledge in the field of organization of health care in the Czech Republic: health care system, health care facilities, primary health care, the principles of the reforms in health care system, health care financing. It describes the categories of health care providers according to obtained qualification in health care system. It deals with human resource management and nursing care management, activities and competences of health care providers, motivation, rewarding. The important chapter is about patient's rights and obligations, health care providers' rights and obligations, keeping medical records, and mandatory confidentiality.
Subject Knowledge: Students can explain the terminology of health care, they can describe a set of health care facilities, can clarify the principle of health care financing in the Czech Republic, can divide healthcare workers by branch and qualification, they are familiar with the competence of individual categories, they can explain the concept of human resource management and nursing care management, they can describe motivational elements and rewarding possibilities for health care providers and nursing staff. Students are also familiar with the basics of legislative norms, duties and rights related to providing health care. Subject Skills: Students are familiar with the current health care system and know the structure of health care facilities, understand the basics principles of financing in the Czech Republic. Students know the current division of health care workers by branch and qualification, they know organization structure of health care facilities and they can describe the competences of individual categories. Students are familiar with the legislative norms which they will use in practice.
