Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as a practical, experiential course. Students will acquire knowledge in the basic terminology of this field. They will learn techniques that effectively help with a variety of problems and difficulties in various diagnoses in occupational therapy. The aim of the course is to teach students the correct indication of music therapy treatment and to acquire general knowledge and important facts about music therapy for health treatment and educational goals in practice.
Competencies acquired: The student is able to assess the strengths and weaknesses and needs of each client and learns to indicate music therapy treatment including creating singing, movement and/or listening to music. They can, using music therapy, provide avenues for communication that can be helpful for those who have difficulty expressing themselves verbally. The student masters music therapy techniques, which he can use and effectively help clients with various diagnoses.
