Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. consultation: Introduction into the subject: aims, content, importance of social politics, terminology. Mechanisms of social politics formation, basic functions and principles of social politics. Social security: aims, functions, development, its pillars. Health care policy: aims, medical systems, funding, health care in the Czech Republic. Connection between medical and social services, the quality of the services available to the impaired citizens. Self-Study: Czech social politics with the focus on politics of social secuity and health care politics. Actual problems of health and social care reforms. Actual social politics in EU. Legislative regulating heath care and social security. Strategy of social politics in upcoming period (visions, reforms, etc.)

Learning outcomes
The subject introduces selected areas of social politics and it is focused on the politics in the area of health care, social security, social care and help. The aim of the subject is to promote understanding of basic terms appearing in the topics of medical and social protection of the citizens. It also introdcuces target groups of the social care, organizational structure of social services and current legislative.
Subject Knowledge: Students can explain the mechanisms of creating social politics; they can define systems of social security, health care and social care segments. Subject Skills: Students can use their knowledge and offer practical solution to social problems specified in each case.

Active participation in discussions related to current issues, self-study of recommended literature and study support, control by electronic and individual consultations.
