Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. consultation: 1. Introduction to the studies, basic differentiation, the aspects of modern physiotherapy, the effects of physical impulses, general rules of choosing correct physical therapy, indication, contraindication of physiotherapy, safety rules. 2. Contact electrotherapy, non-contact electrotherapy. Seminar Topics: 1. consultation: 1. Contact electrotherapy: basic terms. 2. Contact electrotherapy: galvanotherapy, low frequency electrotherapy, and electrodiagnostics. 3. Contact electrotherapy: medium frequency electrotherapy. 4. Non-contact electrotherapy: diathermy. Self-Study: Thermotherapy, hydrotherapy, phototherapy, inhalation, classical massage. Mechanotherapy, combined therapy.

Learning outcomes
The subject is both theoretical and practical. It helps the students to get theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of physical therapy with the emphasis on traditional and modern physical tools application. The aim is to get the knowledge, understand the rules and therapeutic processes in the program of physiotherapy; it also includes gaining the knowledge about the physical mechanism of some procedures, including the principles of safety and health protection during the work.
Subject Knowledge: Student can define basic tools of physiotherapy, describe and explain the mechanisms of the effects provided by these tools. Subject Skills: Student can implement basic therapeutical operations from the field of contact and non-contact electrotherapy, can design the application of physical tools in some indication groups, he/she knows and follows the rules of safety and health protection.
