Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Surgery - general part, inflammations, tumors, shock, imperfect resuscitation. 2. Surgery - special section, cardiac surgery, chest surgery, breast tumors. 3. Surgery of the abdomen, urogenital system, surgery of the arteries and veins. 4. Traumatology - wounds, burns, skull and brain injuries. 5. Traumatology - injury of chest, abdomen. 6. Fractures - basic types, the most common fractures according to the location of conservative therapy, operative therapy. 7. Fractures - basic types, the most common fractures according to the location of conservative therapy, operative therapy. 8. Fractures - basic types, the most common fractures according to the location of conservative therapy, operative therapy. 9. Complications of healing of fractures, pelvis, upper and lower limbs.

Learning outcomes
Brief history of the field. Knowledge of basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in surgery according to individual areas and disciplines with the application of the latest trends in connection with rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Comprehensive overview of diagnostics and subsequent conservative and operative treatment of musculoskeletal traumas with an emphasis on prevention and use of the latest surgical trends in traumatology in relation to subsequent physiotherapy.
Expertise: Students in general surgery can explain the principles of surgical inflammation treatment, knows the basic division of tumors, shocks. They can describe individual steps of urgent resuscitation and are able to demonstrate them in practice. Can enumerate and briefly describe the underlying diseases and principles of operations in the head, chest and abdomen by subject. They can describe the types of burns and the principles of their treatment. Professional skills: He knows the distribution of musculoskeletal injuries according to the types of affected tissues and fractures by localization, he can describe diagnostic and therapeutic methods in traumatology with an emphasis on subsequent rehabilitation. The level of knowledge will be verified by continuous tests. Competences: The student is able to explain the principles of treatment of surgical inflammation, division of tumors, shocks, practically demonstrate the steps of urgent resuscitation. He is familiar with basic diseases and principles of operations in the area of head, chest and abdomen according to individual fields. They are able to describe the types of burns and the principles of their treatment.
