In this seminar, we will become acquainted with a brief history of artistic collaboration, participatory art, and socially engaged art. The main emphasis, however, will be placed on practice: developing the concept of your own project and its subsequent realization. Together, we will explore questions concerning the role of the artist in society as well as the social status of art itself. The course has a collaborative dimension that will allow you to develop collective authorship, while also providing space for individual work. In both cases, the aim is to establish a meaningful dialogue with the surrounding world, particularly beyond the sphere of art. We will seek to understand art as a distinctive form of communication and to explore conscious engagement, responsibility, and interconnectedness through artistic practice.
